For many years the On-Line Brochure has been the ‘bread & butter’ of the Internet. Every company has to have a web-site to appear as a serious competitor. On-Line Brochures can range from basic to very elaborate. The AmriSIPs site below is an elaborate site with numerous pages explaining their unique product line. It is not flashy but relies on background images to help convey interest and emotion. The Herons Walk and Crooked River Estates sites are the more typical Brochure sites using rotating images and headers to attract attention. HeronsWalk is an example of a mid-range brochure site while CrookedRiverEstates is an example of the typical ‘5-page’ on-line brochure.
The AmeriSIPs web-site is an extensive on-line brochure site that we converted to WordPress in the Spring of 2013. Site development includes the development of special landing pages, YouTube videos and now encompass over 30-pages and almost 100-articles. AmeriSIPs builds ‘state of the art’ homes and commercial buildings in the Charleston SC market. Their newest innovation, InsulSteel, super insulates the building structure creating homes with minimal or, in many cases, negative energy cost (the utility company actually pays the homeowner for creating power). AmeriSIPs recently won the DOE (Department of Energy) award for the most innovative home. In the DOE study, a 3,000 sf home had an annual electrical bill of just $329! Zero Energy homes are in increasing demand as energy costs rise.
This site make extensive use of background images to help convey emotion and visual appeal while explaining the details of their technology. AmeriSIPs is a cutting edge innovator and the web-site is incredibly informative – if you click you cursor on the blog page you can see the depth of articles or go to the web-site here.
With over two years of active development, and continuous ongoing development, AmeriSIPs is an example of an extensive on-line brochure web-site.

Heron’s Walk is a typical ‘mid-range’ on-line brochure web-site created for a real estate community. As you can see, the site uses rotating images to attract and hold the viewer’s attention. The rotating images are woven into an pleasant home page. Hover over the left sidebar menu to reveal a number of cascading menu options. The site features numerous pages describing the community, deed restrictions, meeting minutes and recorded plan as downloadable PDF files. There are also numerous birds and marsh photos taken at the community’s marshfront location.
The site is no longer actively maintained or associated with the community however, it is available as an example of an on-line brochure. You can visit the web-site here. This brochure site is a example of a ‘mid-range’ on-line brochure.

If On-line brochures are the bread & butter for the internet, then the Crooked River Estates site is the epitome of an on-line brochure. The web-site is what we call a ‘5-page website’ (there are actually 10 pages for this site). These sites typically offer a front page, product/service detail page, a “blog page” to post current articles, an ‘about us’ page and a ‘contact us’ page. If you search the internet you will find a plethora of these 5-page website, some extremely well done and many that are awful.
